Glen Tullman, Allscripts CEO, announced that Allscripts and Eclipsys, leading providers of software and information solutions in the ambulatory and acute markets respectively, will merge. The result will be one company with the industry's largest network of clients on the most advanced product platform resulting in a single patient record.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today announced final rules to help improve Americans’ health, increase safety and reduce health care costs through expanded use of electronic health records (EHR).

Good News for IT Healthcare companies CCHIT Approved as ONC Authorized Testing and Certification Body

The Certification Commission has been recognized by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) under the initial certification program created to certify that electronic health records (EHRs) are capable of meeting the criteria to support meaningful use and qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
